I have this old 1930's Rolleicord camera which features this unusual engraving. So far as I can tell it says in Chinese (or possibly antiquated Japanese) the same words that it also says in German. Problem is I cannot figure out what the middle character is. The two on the ends appear to be and but I can’t identify the middle one. Anybody know?

It is guo, which means country. Pretty sure it means Made in Germany.

Yeah. It’s just really hard to make it out with the style of engraving used. Thanks.

it said “Made in Germany”. It middle character along can mean country.
was old fashion writing (Reading from right to left). Now it is from left to right as in English . The two character together mean “German”.

Thanks. This is what I was assuming, but I wanted to make sure that’s what it was.

I bow down to her knowledge of 3 alphabets ... Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji (Chinese characters). If I had to write Japanese for a living, I would starve to death.
